SCRAP SF Website Redesign

SCRAP SF is a creative reuse resource center located in Potrero Hill in San Francisco. I have been working with SCRAP to build a new website for them that better reflects their organizational goals and allows users to share the projects they are building with SCRAP materials. Another key factor was building the site in a way that is extremely visual, easy for SCRAP staff to maintain and update with new materials as they arrive at the facility, and easier for users to gain information on upcoming events and workshops.

SCRAP patrons mainly consist of students, artists and hobbyists. Many of them are already using Flickr, social media and personal blogs to share the 'finds' they discover at SCRAP. With this in mind, we implemented an interactive front page gallery that is updated with images of new materials as they are received, gallery and information feeds from Flickr, Twitter and Facebook as well as a SCRAP artist gallery section that highlights artists who specialize in creative reuse. The project is still on-going and is scheduled to launch mid-March 2010.
