IDEO Project Form: Helping CCA Design for the Future
I worked with IDEO in developing a research plan for assisting California College of the Arts in the design of their 5-year strategic plan. My research focused on interviewing recently accepted students, first-semester students, and students for whom CCA was their 2nd or 3rd choice. Methods for research included asking students to keep a week long "relationship journal" about their experiences and reflections on CCA. By using the analogy of the ‘relationship’ we were able to gain insight into the interpersonal dynamics of how students view their relationship with CCA.
I also conducted one-on-one interviews with students and asked them to send a personal inventory of items they would be bringing into their studios in order to gain insight into their dreams, expectations and motivations for coming to CCA.
