Scrap SF

Project type: Website redesign
Role: Interaction & Visual Design Lead

SCRAP SF is a creative reuse resource center located in Potrero Hill in San Francisco. In 2010, SCRAP commissioned myself and a colleague to redesign their website to better reflect their organizational goals and allows patrongs to share the projects they build with SCRAP materials. Other key needs were a desire to make the site more visually engaging, easier for SCRAP staff to maintain and update the site with materials as they arrive at the facility, and easier for users to get information on upcoming events and workshops. The project involved a full audit of current and proposed content, restructuring of the information architecture, revamping the visual design to reflect the spirit of their physical space and implementation of a new blog and an online donation feature. The new site was launched in 2010 and since has resulted in continued increase in online traffic and workshop attendance.
